F.A.Q
No, not at all! Jazz is thriving at Sounds. We’re excited to announce the start of our new season in September 2024. Our opening party will be a celebration of the club’s rich history, carrying on the live music legacy that began in the 1980s.
Sounds Resist is a Brussels-based non-profit organization that manages and programs Sounds, the music venue and club. Since 2022, Sounds has evolved from a legendary jazz bar into a space that hosts a diverse range of musical styles.
The venue operates on a dual programming model. One side is the Sounds Jazz Club, dedicated to a comprehensive jazz program. The other is the Sounds Resist, showcasing world music and eclectic sounds with a strong focus on social and environmental issues.
In short, we are the Sounds Resist team, committed to bringing you a rich and varied musical experience under one roof.
Unless stated otherwise because of an especial event, the week is splitted between the two programs this way:
Sounds Jazz Club: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Sounds Resist : Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday

Our jam sessions typically follow a programmed concert, which begins at 8pm. Afterward, all are welcome to join the musical fun. Both Sounds Jazz and Sounds Resist jam sessions attract students and professionals alike, sharing a passion for music.
To participate, a solid foundation in the respective genre is essential. For jazz, this includes improvisation and chord changes. Latin jams require a strong grasp of rhythmic patterns.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer table reservations for jam sessions. These events are highly popular, and creating a lively atmosphere is essential. To ensure the best experience for both our guests and musicians, we prioritize early arrival.
We recommend arriving early to enjoy the concert preceding the jam session and securing a good seat.
The Sounds host 2 associations : Sounds Live and Sounds Resist (Buen Vivir)
