ECHO SESSIONS | YUTING LI INVITES MACHIEL HEREMANS

YuTing Li is a Taiwan-born, Belgium-based pianist. Having touched the piano for the very first time since she was 4, YuTing has acquired experiences of many different musical genres, such as classical, jazz, electronics and etc.. During her study in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel for jazz piano, YuTing started to explore electronics which broadens her database for sounds. She has been working on her solo project, of which she combines acoustic piano with electronics, creating a unique soundscape with layers of delicate textures. In 2023 she graduated from the conservatory of Brussels, receiving the honor of Toots Thielemans Jazz Award with her double-instrument project 'VIVA', in which the guest of this event Machiel Heremans plays one of the guitars. During this residency YuTing will explore her solo project further, with Machiel joining the adventure.
