WHERE COZINESS MEETS VIRTUOSITY Daniel Montes, founding member of the famous Brazilian group Casuarina, Lionel Ziblat, composer - arranger (the Concertgebouw orchestra, the National Symphony orchestra of Argentina) and former leader of Progressive Rock band Modest Midget, and Mariano Gonzalez, PhD musicology & linguistics researcher and percussionist, will be representing the ‘Amstel Choro’ collective. The three musicians will bring to Brussels this rich & cosy Brazilian tradition which is deeply rooted in European Classical music and rich African influences. A colourful fusion of skill, structure, swing and improvisation that appeared in Brazil during the 19th century, decades before Jazz did in the US.
